How does the price of solid surface, quartz and granite compare?

A standard counter typically costs substantially less in solid surface material. Quartz and Granite have about the same price range and are generally more expensive than a solid surface counter.

Which is the best countertop material?

Solid surface, quartz and granite are all mid to high-end countertop materials. Typically, individuals interested in a specific "look" that is only available with a specific material will not necessarily be happy with a compromise. Each material has its advantages. However, there is no such thing as a perfect counter material.

What should I avoid with my countertops?

Granite: Wine, mustard, oils, acidic chemicals.

Silestone: Really nothing can hurt Silestone!

How long does it take to install my kitchen countertop?

From the time you place the order, it generally takes about 2-3 weeks to have a finished counter or 7 - 10 days from template to install day.

What is a "standard" counter?

Due to the available sizes of sheet material, a "standard" countertop is typically a solid color, is 25" deep, has a 4" set-on backsplash, a simple 1 1/2" edge, and a top mount sink and/or cook top cutout. It is important to understand that even though "standard" counters are substantially less expensive that an "upgraded" counter, the same level of craftsmanship should be apparent on both types of counters.

How often should I seal my granite countertops?

You will need to seal your Granite countertops at least once a year. We recommend sealer which can be purchased from Home Depot. Some areas may need to be sealed more often.

Will my countertop have seams?

That will depend on the material of the countertop and the size of each section. We try extremely hard to avoid seams if possible.

How do I clean my countertops?

Granite: If you'd like, you may purchase a special stone cleaner. However, warm water and a light colored dish soap will also work well. Be sure to avoid using any abrasive cleaners that will break down your seal quicker.

Silestone: You can use anything from an all purpose cleaner to soap and water.
Corian: Everyday cleaning of Corian can be done by an all purpose cleaner or warm water. For stains or heavy dirt you may also use a scotch bright light abrasive pad and a little elbow grease!

Laminate: Any all purpose cleaner will work great.
