Wood countertops add a traditional warmth to your home that no other countertop material can offer. Available in various construction styles, wood tops can be constructed using the widest sections of the wood, giving an appearance of furniture. This look can be achieved with both our Premium Wide Plank and our Standard Plank styles. Alternatively, the tops can be constructed using the Edge or End Grains of the wood for a butcher block style countertop.
- Hand Selected boards, 5” to 12” wide of unblemished premium wood.
- These tops have our signature Hand Rubbed Marine Oil FinishTM which is 100% waterproof, stain proof and will never have to be refinished in its lifetime.
- Each board runs the entire length of the countertop, no butt joints.
- Various standard colors from our chart and custom color matching are available.
- We use only 7% of the tree to ensure the highest quality, guaranteeing there will be no knots, and that the color and grain from board to board will be consistent.
- Our craftsmen hand-match each plank for consistent grain, wood color and a pleasing rendition.
- Boards are 3” to 5” wide of randomly selected wood members.
- Tight knots, some light grain and pith marks are acceptable.
- The tops receive 4 coats of Waterlox finish that requires occasional maintenance. It is water and stain resistant and may be recoated as needed.
- Natural color only, no staining.
- Thin, randomly selected wood members, 1¾” wide, glued in parallel. Extra long tops may have butt joints.
- Commercial grade tops are fabricated using both heart and sapwoods.
- Thicknesses from 1¼” to 12”.
- Natural color only, no staining.
- The finish is sealed and oiled, requiring regular oiling, as maintenance to ensure the wood does not dry out.
- This type of top is perfect for chopping and food preparation.
- An incredible working surface for the professional or semi-professional cook.
- Vertical facing wood members, typically 1¾” x 1¾”, that look like offset squares.
- Traditionally used as a chopping surface and for food prep.
- The construction is ideal because the fibers of the wood actually cradle your knife blade and repair themselves at the same time.
- These tops are Sealed and Oiled and require weekly oiling as maintenance.
- Natural color only, no staining.
- These are also available as “point to point” glue up, enabling a checkerboard effect.

- Due to the available sizes of sheet material, a "standard" countertop is typically a solid color, is 24" deep, has a 4" set-on backsplash, a simple 1 1/2" edge, and a top mount sink and/or cook top cutout.
It is important to understand that even though "standard" counters are substantially less expensive that an "upgraded" counter, the same level of craftsmanship should be apparent on both types of counters.
