Solid Surface is the most versatile countertop material available. There is no other product that features the wide variety of options that make your surface truly custom. Offered in a wide range of colors and patterns, you will surely find the brand that makes your house a home. Some familiar brands include, Corian, HI-MACS, Staron, Wilsonart, Formica and LivingStone.

A major appeal of solid surface is its seamless nature. Solid surface sinks can be joined to the countertop surface with no gaps, which eliminates areas for water to collect and bacteria to grow. Integral backsplashes can also be created that follow the contours of the wall “seamlessly” and without gaps.
Solid Surface Countertop Options - The following options are available for Solid Surface Countertops:
- Finish - Polished, Matte or Satin
- Edge Treatment
- Splash - Set On, Tiled Backsplash or Integral Cove
- Sink Type - Integral, Top Mount or Under Mount
Stain Resistance - Solid Surface is a non-porous material which makes it extremely stain resistant. This means that bacteria, moisture and molds cannot penetrate the surface.
Heat Resistance - Although Solid Surfacing is not heat proof it is very resistant to heat. It is not recommended to set anything very hot directly on Solid Surface because the extreme temperature change can damage the countertop. It is recommended to use a hot pad or trivet.
Cutting and Abrasion Resistance - Durability is a main feature of Solid Surface countertops which can resist damage from everyday use. Scratching from cutting and hard rough surfaces can create fine lines in the material. Being able to preform repairs on Solid Surface countertops is an advantage of this material compared to other countertops. So even after years of use the surface of the countertop can be renewed to the original beautiful finish.
Impact Resistance - Due to its chemistry, Solid Surface material is very resistant to high impact and if it is damaged Solid Surface countertops can be easily repaired.
Food Safe - Solid Surface has been certified by NSF International as safe for use as a food preparation surface. Since Solid Surface is nonporous it prohibits food and moisture from penetrating the surface which is the main source of growth for harmful bacteria.
Solid Surfaces contribute to the sustainable design goals of a variety of commercial and residential applications.

- Due to the available sizes of sheet material, a "standard" countertop is typically a solid color, is 24" deep, has a 4" set-on backsplash, a simple 1 1/2" edge, and a top mount sink and/or cook top cutout.
It is important to understand that even though "standard" counters are substantially less expensive that an "upgraded" counter, the same level of craftsmanship should be apparent on both types of counters.
