History
Abington Station was Glenside's name at the time of the civil war with only six houses in the town. The "Glenside" name was created March 7, 1887, with the establishment of the first post office. Easton Road was known as Plank Road, then extending from Mount Airy to Willow Grove. The Casa Conti Restaurant (now New Life Presbyterian Church) was then known as the Weldon Hotel, a popular stage coach stop with a toll booth in operation on the opposite corner.
